FPPC The Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) of California prohibits a public official from using his or her official position to influence a governmental decision in which he or she knows or has reason to know he or she has a financial interest (Gov. Code Section 87100). To help identify potential conflicts of interest, the law requires officials to file forms called Statements of Economic Interest (SEIs), also known as Form 700s. This form is also called the Conflict of Interest Form. Copies of the statements of economic interest filed by the above-named officers may be obtained by visiting the office of the City Clerk, or in some cases, available through the California Fair Political Practices Commission in electronic format. The citizens of Weed are welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings of the City Council.
