2026 Candidate Information

Every vote is urgently needed in the June 2nd election. We need James Gallagher over 50% so he can resume Doug LaMalfa's term through December.  Nicolette Hahn Niman must qualify in the top 2 for the November runoff.

James is running in the special election for District 1 to complete the balance of Doug LaMalfa's term through December 2026. 50% plus 1 vote allows him to take office immediately.

Prop 50 moved us into District 2 for the 2027-2028 congressional term. Nicolette Hahn Niman is running for that seat as a lifelong Independent.  She will appear on the ballot as political party NPP (no party preference). 

Nicolette is running against the incumbent District 2 Representative Jared Huffman. He is a radical environmentalist and atheist. Nicolette is a common-sense Christian rancher. 

Congressman LaMalfa's final floor speech involved a shouting match with Jared Huffman in defense of Siskiyou County and our rural way of life. Huffman dismissed the reports of wolves near our schools as "Little Red Riding Hood stories". Congressman LaMalfa clashed with Rep Huffman regularly and this was no exception. It is one of the few times we saw him truly angry. Doug could not imagine Siskiyou County in the clutches of Jared Huffman.
